Fall Ball Camp

What is Fall Ball Camp?

NOW Volleyball and Ducks Volleyball will be teaming up to provide athletes with an amazing volleyball training experience. Fall Ball is an ACCELERATED training camp to provide athletes an opportunity to ENHANCE their game in PREPARATION FOR CLUB season. Each court and training session is lead by PROFESSIONAL and EXPERIENCED coaches, whose focus is to help each athlete develop and refine their skills + abilities + volleyball IQ. We want to help each athlete build and grow the tools they need to be successful.

  • FALL BALL will not be run as a traditional camp due to COVID-19 protocols. Athletes will be placed into small training groups and have the opportunity to receive maximal reps and personalized feedback. Groups will be at the discretion of the Camp Director.

Why NOW Volleyball Training Camps?

With all NOW training, our coaches really care and are passionate, we pride ourselves in providing a COMPETITIVE, COLLABORATIVE, DYNAMIC and FUN training environment, for athletes that are focused on getting better, learning, and becoming their best.  NOW training focuses on maximizing the number of quality ball contacts athletes receive to help them LEARN and REFINE their skills, athletes then APPLY their learning in a variety of game situations to better understand strategies and concepts. Athletes will learn from some of the most knowledgeable and successful club/university/college coaches in the province, with a high coach to athlete ratio to ensure appropriate FEEDBACK is delivered to facilitate growth.

COVID-19 | Return to Play Information

We have put into place amazing programming that meets all of the current requirements from ViaSport and Volleyball BC to ensure our staff and participants are safe. Safety is our priority. 

COVID-19 Return to Play Guidelines are fluid and changing. Please take a moment to review the NOW/Ducks Volleyball RETURN TO PLAY.The structure of our camp will be adapted when changes are made to the Volleyball BC RETURN TO PLAY.

Registration Information

  • Increased cleaning protocols, increased facility rental costs, and reduced number of allowable athletes on each court have lead to a small increase in registration fees.
  • Fall Ball Camp sessions are OPEN to ANY athlete from ANY club, all clubs are welcome to participate.
  • Fall Ball Camp sessions #2 – #4 are ONLY OPEN to athletes who have participated in club volleyball and/or equivalent training. Entry into the camp is at the discretion of the camp director. Please review the criteria listed for each training program.
  • Athletes will be placed into groups based on their age, skill and ability levels at the discretion of the coaching staff to ensure that training meets the needs of everyone. 
  • Please review the refund policy outlined at the bottom of this page.
  • Space will be extremely limited. Camp numbers will be dictated by the allowable number of athletes outlined in by Volleyball BC.

Important Information

  • Space will be extremely limited. NOW Volleyball will be gradually, safely implementing the new (August 26th) Volleyball BC Return to Play Plan. Currently the camp will host 8-10 athletes per court. 6 on 6 game play may be introduced where appropriate.
  • COVID-19 Return to Play Guidelines are fluid and changing. The structure of our camp will be adapted when changes are made to the Volleyball BC RETURN TO PLAY.

  • Fall Ball is OPEN to any athlete from any club, all clubs are welcome
  • Intermediate/Advanced Fall Ball is ONLY open to athletes who have participated on organized club and/or high school teams, and/or equivalent training. Entry into the camp is at the discretion of the camp director. 
  • Athletes will be placed into groups based on their skill and ability levels at the discretion of the camp director to ensure that the training meets the needs of everyone.

    Fall Ball Sunday Camp #1 - 12U - 13U Beginner | Intermediate *FULL

    Ages: *Male & Female

    12U (born in 2009)

    13U (born in 2008)

    14U (born in 2007) *

    *Fall Ball Camp #1 is OPEN to 12U and 13U athletes of all skills and abilities.

    *Fall Ball Camp #1 is OPEN to 14U athletes that are new to volleyball and have limited and/or no club volleyball experience.

    *Athletes will be placed into groups based on their skill and ability levels at the discretion of the camp director to ensure that the training meets the needs of everyone.

    Location: Harry Jerome Sports Centre

    Time: 8:30 am – 10:00 am

    Dates: September 13, 20, 27, 2020

    Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

    Cost: $85 + GST * At capacity, please register on waitlist

    Skill Essentials

    All fundamental skills will introduced and applied in game-like situations, athletes will build a stronger technical foundation for all skills.

    System and Tactical Training

    Systems and tactics will be introduced to build each athlete’s volleyball IQ and understanding of the game.

    Game Play

    Application and refining of learning during game play is essential for growth. Various opportunities during competitive game-like situations is a priority at the camp.

    Fall Ball Sunday Camp #2 - 14U - 15U Intermediate | Advanced *FEMALE *FULL

    Ages: *Female

    14U (born in 2007)

    15U (born in 2006) 

    *Fall Ball Camp #2 is ONLY OPEN to 14U and 15U female athletes who have participated in a minimum of 1-2 seasons of indoor club volleyball and/or equivalent training. This camp is not appropriate for beginners or athletes new to volleyball. Entry into the camp is at the discretion of camp director. Clearly identify on your registration your playing experience.

    *Athletes will be placed into groups based on their skill and ability levels at the discretion of the camp director to ensure that the training meets the needs of everyone.

    Location: Harry Jerome Sports Centre

    14U Time: 9:00 am -11:00 am (NOTE CHANGE)

    15U Time: 10:15 am – 12:15 pm

    Dates: September 13, 20, 27, 2020

    Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced 

    Cost: $115 + GST

    Position Specific Tutorials

    Position specific movements and techniques will be introduced and applied in game-like situations. Athletes will learn the details of specific positions to be successful.

    *Fall Ball Camp #3 is ONLY OPEN to 16U, 17U and 18U female athletes who have participated in a minimum of 2-3 seasons of indoor club volleyball and/or equivalent training. This camp is not appropriate for beginners or athletes new to volleyball. Entry into the camp is at the discretion of camp director. Clearly identify on your registration your playing experience.

    *Athletes will be placed into groups based on their skill and ability levels at the discretion of the camp director to ensure that the training meets the needs of everyone.

    16U Time: 11:30 – 2:30 pm (NOTE CHANGE)

    17U-18U Time: 12:45 – 3:45 pm (NOTE CHANGE)

    Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced (must have previous club volleyball experience or equivalent training to register)

    *Fall Ball Camp #4 is ONLY OPEN to 14U and 15U male athletes who have participated in a minimum of 1-2 seasons of indoor club volleyball and/or equivalent training.

    *Fall Ball Camp #4 is ONLY OPEN to 16U, 17U and 18U Male athletes who have participated in a minimum of 2-3 seasons of indoor club volleyball and/or equivalent training. This camp is not appropriate for beginners or athletes new to volleyball. Entry into the camp is at the discretion of camp director. Clearly identify on your registration your playing experience.

    *Athletes will be placed into groups based on their skill age and ability levels. Placement is at the discretion of the camp director to ensure that the training meets the needs of everyone.

    Time: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

    Dates: September 13, 20, 27, 2020

    Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced (must have previous club volleyball experience or equivalent training to register)

    Additional Information

    • Once registration has been accepted, you will be sent an email with additional information confirming your position in the camp. Training fills up very quickly, and a wait list will be created.
    • There will be no refunds for missed sessions.
    • Athletes will be placed into groups based on their age, skill and ability levels at the discretion of the camp director to ensure that training meets the needs of everyone.
    • Athletes may be asked to move sessions where appropriate, to provide a better learning environment.

    Refund Policy

    REGULAR REFUND POLICY

    It is NOW/Ducks Volleyball policy is that no refunds will be given once programs have commenced. It is club policy that refunds will ONLY be given under specific extenuating circumstances. Return of the registration fee must be approved by the registrar and will be prorated if the sessions have already begun. Refunds are subject to:

    • a $40 cancellation fee
    • prorated amount, based on the amount of sessions elapsed
    • deduction of unrecoverable costs (ie. facility fees, affiliation fees, equipment, etc.)
    • refunds will not be given for sessions cancelled due to inclement weather or athlete missed sessions

    COVID-19 REFUND POLICY

    In the event that a program must be shut down due to a confirmed case of Covid-19, participants will receive a pro-rated discount for the remainder of the sessions less unrecoverable costs.

    PARTICIPANT FALLS ILL – NO COVID TEST

    If an athlete falls ill, our regular Refund policy will take effect. If participant exhibits Covid-19 symptoms, it is imperative they contact 8-1-1 immediately. Please refer to our Return to Play page for specific instructions.

    No refunds will be given for regular illness, unconfirmed by official Covid-19 test.

    GYM TIME IS CANCELED

    If the gym time booked is canceled, registered participants will be able to choose from one of the following options:

    1. Receive a full refund
    2. Full credit forward: allow NOW Volleyball/Ducks Volleyball to retain your full fees paid thus far to be used for a future camp registration. Full credits do not expire and can be used for any NOW Volleyball Camp registration and for any individual within your household. Families who choose this option will be given the opportunity to register for our next NOW Volleyball Camp before the general public.
